Ernesto + Jasmin - How It All Began

Let me introduce you to my other half and myself!

Love this picture because it captured our personalities perfectly!
Ernesto and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary and we couldn't be happier! We have shared so many experiences in the time that we have been together and I can't wait to see what else life has to offer.

Both of us grew up in a small town in Arizona called Yuma (also known as the hottest place on Earth!) We met through mutual friends in high school during our Freshman year and little did we know that we would be married 9 years later. The connection was there since the beginning and we officially started dating during our Junior year in high school. What I love most about our relationship was the friendship that we had for quite some time before making it official. This allowed us to be genuine to each other and really get to know one another as individuals. I personally think this is how it should be for all couples out there. Rather than rushing into things, you should get to know each other well and enjoy each other's company. I still remember the day he told me how he felt and decided to ask if I wanted to be his girlfriend. He tells me he could not keep it a secret any longer and had to ask me....and I'm so happy he did!

Ernesto has always been that goofball that likes to play around and make everyone around him laugh. He has always had this charm that I have been attracted to. I can definitely say that he gave me (and still does!) butterflies in my stomach. He is my best friend, partner in crime, and all of the above. He is one of a kind and I am lucky to have him by my side!

Monterey, Our New Home

In exactly 17 days, it will mark exactly one year since I moved to Monterey, California. My husband was offered a job in this area about 2 weeks before our wedding and that is exactly when our adventures began as newlyweds (even though we were not married yet!). We knew then that our wonderful adventure together would begin in a new city, with new jobs, and new places to explore. Two weeks passed, we got married, we enjoyed our honeymoon, and he was back to California. As for me, I decided to stay in Arizona to finish some projects at work and I was off to Monterey on December 20th.

Looking back at this past year, my husband and I have been lucky to experience what we have experienced. We are adventurers and travelers at heart that yearn to see new things as much as we can. Whether it is trying a new restaurant, attending local events, or traveling to places we have never been. I love that about us! With this blog, I hope to capture our memories and reminisce on those that we look back on.

Welcome to our little world!
